Is a tattooing method to cover up white stretch marks, vitiligo, surgical scars, regular scars, and skin blemishes. In this procedure, we use pigments to custom-match a person’s skin color. When the treated area is healed, the result is a beautiful scar or stretch marks blended in with the rest of the skin tone. We offer Stretch Mark Camouflage, Scar Camouflage, Vitiligo Camouflage, and Hypopigmentation.

Stretch Mark/ Scar Camouflage

Our Stretch Mark/ Scar Camouflage in Baton Rouge is a safe tattooing method that fills in every scar, and stretch marks with pigments that match the surrounding skin. Each Client gets a custom-made color done the day of their appointment. After filling in each scar, and stretch mark with your custom-made skin color pigment, the healing process takes place (around 3 weeks). Once is healed, the scar, and stretch mark look “invisible” to the human eye. This treatment provides permanent results, usually two sessions are needed but treatment sessions vary depending on the severity of the case.

Contraindications for this procedure and when it is NOT advised!

  • Pink (new) Stretch Marks or Scars – Scars or Stretch marks must be white or transparent in color to proceed with the camouflage treatment. Best for them to be at least 1 year old.
  • Pregnant or Nursing
  • Diabetic
  • Issues with keloids or scarring
  • Use of Accutane (in the last 6 months)
  • The client must discontinue retinol if the area retinol is being used for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment.
  • Undergoing chemotherapy

Does Skin Camouflage Hurt?

There is ZERO to minimal pain during the procedure. You can immediately return to your life routine after the procedure, following the after-care instructions given in your appointment.

 

What To Avoid Prior To Skin Camouflage?

  • Aspirin or ibuprofen 24-48 hours prior to your appointment
  • Alcohol, caffeine, and blood thinner 24 hours before your appointment
  • Fish oil or vitamin E one week prior to your appointment (they are natural blood thinners)

*Note: Allergy testing is recommended at consult before your scheduled appointment if there is any doubt you may be allergic to the pigment.

 

What To Avoid After Skin Camouflage?

  • Avoid wearing tight clothing for the next 2-3 days.
  • Avoid scratching or peeling to prevent infection or discoloration.
  • Avoid excessive sweating for 7 days. Moderate exercise is fine after 2 days of the treatment.
  • Avoid exposing the area to the full water pressure of the shower for 7 days.
  • Avoid tanning and swimming (beach, pool, jacuzzi, bath, etc.) for 40 days. Stick to a quick rinse in the shower.
  • Avoid waxing the area 40 days
  • Avoid AHA’s, BHA’s, retinol, or any type of acid in the area for at least 60 days.
  • Avoid sunscreen, self-tanning, or any cream that contains vitamin D for 40 days.
  • Avoid perfume and deodorant near or in the treated area.

 

Can I Suntan After The Procedure?

Yes, you can suntan once the area is fully healed (around 30 days). It is STRONGLY recommended to avoid sun exposure during the healing process, discoloration might occur. For best long-term results, we recommend applying a high SPF on the treated area prior to sun exposure. *NOTE: Stretch marks DO NOT change color or fade away when you tan. It is safe to go to the beach/pool.

 

How Long Does The Procedure Take?

The length of the treatment depends on the size or the area to be treated. On average, a small area takes around 1 hour and a big area up to 4 hours.

 

How Quickly Will I See The Result After The Procedure?

21-90 DAYS after your initial treatment. You should have a reliable visible indication of your result. After the procedure, you may experience some mild irritation, redness, and swelling. Which can last up to 1 week. During the third week, the treated area will slightly get darker. DO NOT PANIC! It is healing. Once this has subsided, you will begin to see the result of your treatment.

 

Can I Get The Treatment Done If My Skin Is Tanned?

No, we recommend that you undergo the treatment when your skin is in its natural color (not tanned). This ensures that we can mix the pigment that best matches your natural skin tone.
