Permanent Makeup in Baton Rouge, LA
Natural-Looking Brows, Lips & Eyeliner in Baton Rouge, LA ·
Designed by Coco's Permanent Makeup Specialists
Permanent makeup (PMU) in Baton Rouge, LA, or cosmetic tattoos use specialized pigments to provide lasting definition in the brows, lips, and eyes, with results that last 1–3 years. This regulated procedure is performed by licensed esthetician and certified artist Bella Belle. Every service at Coco starts with a $25 consultation to tailor the shape, color, and technique to your face. The goal is to make makeup optional, ensuring a result that is intentional, balanced, and recognizably yours.
The Coco Difference
Coco Beauty Bar & Medical Spa’s permanent makeup starts with a $25 consultation, which is essential for making key decisions about shape, color, and technique. Your artist will draw the design on your face for your approval, allowing for refinements until you feel confident. Nothing proceeds without that confidence.
Bella Belle combines artistry with skin expertise in her approach to permanent makeup. With her esthetics background, she understands skin healing and the different levels of pigment retention across skin types. She also expertly assesses existing permanent makeup, ensuring optimal results, especially for clients with aging or discolored work.

What to Expect
1
Your Consultation ($25)
We’ll start with a one-on-one consultation to discuss your goals, assess the treatment area, and design a shape or color that complements your features. Your $25 consultation fee is applied toward your service.
2
Your Appointment
A topical numbing cream is applied to provide comfort before and during your treatment. Depending on the service, appointments typically take 1.5–3 hours, and your artist will guide you through the process every step of the way. Mild redness or swelling afterward is completely normal.
3
Healing & Results
Your new brows, lips, or liner will appear darker at first, then soften as they heal. Over the next 4–6 weeks, the pigment settles into its final result. We’ll provide detailed aftercare instructions to help ensure the best possible outcome.
4
Perfecting Your Look
A touch-up appointment is included with all initial services and is typically scheduled 6–8 weeks after the initial service. This allows us to refine color, enhance retention, and perfect your results. Most clients return every 12–24 months for a refresh to keep their permanent makeup looking its best.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does permanent makeup last?
Results vary by technique and skin type, but most permanent makeup lasts 1–3 years before a color boost or refresh is needed.
Is it painful?
Most clients describe the experience as mild pressure or a scratching sensation, manageable, with topical numbing applied before and throughout the session. Sensitivity varies by area and by individual. The lips tend to be more sensitive than the brows; the lash line falls somewhere in between.
What is the difference between microblading, powder brows, and combo brows?
Microblading creates individual hair strokes for a natural, hair-mimicking result. Powder brows create a soft, filled-in finish similar to brow powder. Combo brows combine both techniques for depth and dimension.
What is lip blushing, and does it change the shape of my lips?
Lip blushing adds soft, even pigment across the lip surface to enhance natural color and even out tone; it does not dramatically alter lip shape. The technique can slightly define the lip border to create a cleaner edge, but the goal is to enhance what you already have, not reconstruct.
Can I get permanent makeup if I've had cosmetic tattooing before?
Previous permanent makeup must be fully assessed at your consultation before any new pigment is placed. The color, depth, and condition of existing pigment affect what can be done over or alongside it.
How do I prepare for the appointment?
Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and blood-thinning medications for 24 hours before your session. Stop retinoids and exfoliating acids on the treatment area at least one week prior. Avoid sun exposure and tanning in the days leading up to your appointment. For brow appointments, do not wax, thread, or tint in the week leading up to the appointment.
Is it safe?
It is performed by a licensed, trained artist using sterile, single-use equipment and quality pigments, which is considered safe for most adults. As with any procedure that breaks the skin, there is a small risk of infection, an allergic reaction, or uneven pigment retention.
What makes Coco different from other studios in Baton Rouge?
The consultation is non-negotiable; the design process is done on your face before any pigment is applied; and the artist performing your service has dual training in skin care and PMU techniques. Bella’s esthetician background means she understands skin behavior, healing, and pigment retention in ways that purely technique-trained artists often don’t.
Your Consultation Is Where It Starts
Permanent makeup is one of the most considered beauty investments a client makes. The $25 consultation is where questions get answered, the design gets built, and you decide, with full information, whether to move forward. Book yours online or call us directly.
